Abangan Norte belongs to the northeastern tidal flat portion of Marilao and is bounded by the municipality of Bocaue, Bocaue River, and barangays Tabing Ilog and Abangan Sur. It has total land area of 172.1 hectares which are devoted mostly to residential and commercial use. It has nine residential subdivisions, ten recreation centers, three resorts and a number of business establishments along McArthur highway.

    The McArthur Highway is only a "nickname" for a certain segment of the Manila North Road. I still have to see official documents officially declaring and renaming the entire length of the Manila North Road ( from Caloocan City Bonifacio Monument to Ilocos Norte ) as the McArthur Highway. McArthur Highway runs from Urdaneta City Pangasinan up to Caloocan City. It used to be referred to as Highway 3 or Route 3 in Military History. It got its nickname because when Gen. Douglas McArthur landed in Lingayen during the Liberation in 1944, they used Highway 3 or Route 3 to travel by road to Manila. In the 60's, people started calling that route as McArthur Highway. For us in the La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte Provinces, we never referred to the Manila North Road aka National Highway as McArthur Highway. I wish WikiMapia would do some research on this.
